The Bathroom

This is the lavatory, the sink is outside the bathroom near the doorway.

Inside the bathroom, with hot and cold shower.

In one of the forums to which I am a member, I posted a question to gauge the people's preference when it comes to the use of a "tabo at timba" or a bucket and a water dipper as compared to using the shower. I got  mixed reactions, some say that they prefer to use the shower while some say that they prefer the "tabo at timba". Growing up and being from a poor family, we didn't always have the luxury of having a hot shower in the house. My siblings and I grew up using icy cold water from the faucet when taking a bath. If we wanted some hot water for a bath, we would heat the water in a pot and mix it with the icy water in the bucket just to break the cold. Every time we threw a dip full of water on our bodies, we would shout, yell, jump and sing to the top of our voices just to get our minds off from the cold water as it was not really hot, just lukewarm. We didn't care if we sang out of tune, the bathroom was our recording office! The cost of using electricity is very expensive and we could barely afford it. According to a survey that was done some years ago, we ranked the highest in Asia when it comes to electricity cost. Using the tall tanks for a piped-in gas for heating water in the bathroom was not an option either because it was also expensive and we would rather use the gas for cooking food. Nowadays, with the influx of goods from other countries, we have the luxury of choosing from among the different types of hot shower gadgets that are readily available in the market.

Three Bedrooms

This is a small two-story house with 3 small bedrooms that is ideal for a small family. We rent this place as a whole house and not on a "per room" basis. So whoever books the place has the whole house all by themselves without having to share the bathroom, kitchen and living room space with another group of people. The house is not big by any means and it has a combination of living room, dining, and kitchen area all in one place.

We understand that some of us Filipinos do not mind if we all crowd and sleep together in a small house but we do not want to accept more than our maximum capacity. We prefer to take in smaller and quiet groups of people/family because this is a private residential house and not a Hotel or an Inn. This is the reason why we do strictly enforce and implement our policy on  "No drinking of alcoholic beverages allowed" at home.

Three-Bedroom Transient House

What makes us different from other transient houses? Well for one, we do not mix different groups of people in one house so our guests can enjoy their own privacy. Secondly, we are very near the city proper including the main terminal of Victory Liner which is just about 5 minutes away by taxi and most of the local tourist spots are all nearby. We have a policy of "no drinking of alcoholic beverages at our place".

Amenities: use of cabled TV, refrigerator, hot and cold showers and a portable outdoor barbeque grill. A two stove burner is provided with the free use of cooking gas, including a 10-cup rice cooker and a small oven toaster. Basic cooking pots and pans as well as dining utensils are also provided. Whatever amount of water that is left in the drinking water dispenser is free but any refill is charged to the guests at a minimal cost.
